DNS Records

A Records

An A record controls what IP the domain points to. 

CNAME Records

CNAME records is affiliated with the alias name of the domain and points to the actual domain. An example is Alias domain.com points to Host www.domain.com

MX Records

MX records control the mail that is added into the domain. The records are created depending on what the type of mail server you are going with and need a priority number. The priority number affects the mail that is received by running it through a certain amount of mail servers until either it is successful or fails in all of the servers.
